Executive Officer Ralph Kober , Grad Cert MBA

Ralph has been with the CMAA for over 25 years beginning his tenure as the CMAA Education Manager and currently as its Executive Officer.
Previously, Ralph worked operationally as a senior hospitality manager in Australia and NZ in various roles as a hotel manager, restaurant manager and caterer.
Prior to his employment with the CMAA Ralph was a senior human resources manager with the former Sydney Harbour and now current Star City Casino.

Senior Industrial Relations Advocate Peter Cooper

Peter is the CMAA’s Senior Industrial Relations Officer / Advocate. With over 27 years of IR experience, Peter brings a wealth of knowledge to the CMAA, supported by a thorough understanding of the Club industry. Since joining the CMAA in 1995, Peter has supported and advocated on behalf of countless CMAA members in all employment-related matters, before the Fair Work Commission, and worked extensively with the FWC during the creation of the modern awards.

Stakeholder Engagement Manager Chris Keeble - BA

Chris joined the CMAA in 2013, bringing with her a remarkable 25 years of Club Executive Management experience, which includes notable tenures with Penrith Panthers and Rabbitohs. Armed with a triple Major BA in Production, Writing, and Media Studies, Chris injects her roles with innovative and creative thinking. Her unwavering dedication to the CMAA is evident through her strategic focus on marketing, membership, sponsorship, and event production. Approachable and open-minded, Chris warmly welcomes inquiries and eagerly seeks connections with fellow CMAA members as well as those contemplating joining our vibrant community. Moreover, Chris extends a warm invitation to all trade colleagues aspiring to become part of the dynamic world of CMDA.

Professional Development Manager Matt Dagg CCM

Prior to becoming a staff member, Matt was a long time CMAA member, an ACCM recipient (2012) and Vice President of the Gold Coast Zone whilst working as General Manager of both North Burleigh Surf Club and North Burleigh Supporters Club for over 12 years.
Since finishing his hospitality management qualifications and his Chef’s trade, Matt’s career has always been in hospitality and since the mid 80’s he has worked in the Club industry in NSW, VIC and QLD across the RSL, Thoroughbred Racing and Surf Life Saving sectors.
Complimenting his Club experience, Matt was the Food & Beverage Manager of the 5-star 300 room Gold Coast International Hotel for 8 years, Special Events Manager for Warner Bros Movie World, and a TAFE teacher in Victoria training in hospitality business studies.

Workplace Advisor / Compliance Officer Shannen Goldthorpe

Shannen joined the CMAA Industrial Relations team in 2022 and has since developed and delivered a successful IR-focused webinar series called the Essential IR Toolkit for Managers. She works alongside Senior Advocate Peter Cooper, advocating on behalf of our members, creating employment agreements, and offering workplace advice to Managers on all things surrounding the Registered and Licensed Club Award 2020, National Employment Standards, and Fair Work Commission. Shannen has a background working in HR / IR and training and firmly believes “Knowledge is Power!”

Office Administrator Meagan Porter

Meagan joined the CMAA team in May 2024, bringing with her a solid background in Office Management and Customer Service, and looks after all things Administration and Training.
Her diverse background includes 20 plus years of Office Management in State and Local Government departments, along with Executive Asisstant roles in Hospitality,
Engineering and supervisory roles in the Mental Health and Disability sector.

Membership Officer Julie Taneski

Julie joined the CMAA Family in July 2013. Her current role being administrative support for the Managerial and Administration teams. She has an extensive background in Office Management and Executive support across a variety of Industries including multi-national companies over a 30 year career.  

Administration Assistant Terri Montedoro

Terri embarked on her journey with CMA in October 2022, assuming the pivotal role of administrative assistant. With a solid background in banking and finance administration, she brings a wealth of expertise to the table. Terri dedicates herself to the office environment, committing two days per week.

The Association chooses to recognise an individual who has provided outstanding service to the CMAA and has at least 10 years membership. Nominations are accepted from any division or section of the Association and Life Membership is decided by the Federal Executive. The number of life members that can be admitted will be limited to one each year - provided that the number of Life Members cannot exceed 20 persons at any time.

Jim Henry Award

This award commemorates the memory, of former CMAA Presidents and Life Members Peter Cameron, who passed away on June 15, 1993, and Jim Henry OAM, who passed away on June 23, 2013.

The Peter Cameron Award continued from 1993 to 2013. The Jim Henry Award was inaugurated in 2014. The award is chosen by the CMAA Executive annually to recognise the achievements of a club manager, their contribution to the CMAA and the Club Industry.
